Building Black Brotherhood @ Brown (3B)

Program Overview

  • Building Black Brotherhood at Brown (3B) is a group dedicated to fostering a supportive and empowering community among Black men (staff and faculty). 3B is an employee affinity group at Brown University focused on the interests and lived experiences of Black men in the Brown University community. The group will typically meet monthly during the academic year and will be guided by a leadership board that is selected by the group’s members in November/December of each year or whenever a vacancy occurs. The leadership board is advised by the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity.

  • 3B's mission is to provide intentional space and opportunity for Brown community members to value the presence, contributions, and unique lived experiences of (Black) faculty and staff through: Brotherhood, Advocacy, Community Building, and Knowledge Sharing
